Worth knowing

30 bursaries of $6,000 awarded annually. Based on financial need and scholastic ability. First-year students given priority. Deadline is Feb 1 at noon. Verified 2026-09-09 on amhebf.com. Applications are accepted from December 1 annually and close February 1 at noon, which this listing already had right. Two qualifiers the headline figure hides. The fund says amounts are 'based on fund financials' and that thirty $6,000 bursaries is the HISTORICAL pattern, not a guarantee. And this is one of five Masonic bursaries, not the only one: the Lauraine Douchet adds two at $7,000 for pharmacy or medicine students, the Mathews Konschak adds ten at $6,000 for the Peace River Regional District, and the Fred and Lilly North takes applicants from named locations in Alberta and Saskatchewan. If you are in Peace River or heading into pharmacy, check those before the general one.

About this scholarship

The Alberta Masonic Foundation gives out 30 bursaries of $6,000 each year to first-year post-secondary students from Alberta and the NWT, weighing both marks and financial need.
