Worth knowing

Run by the Airdrie magazine airdrielife, in memory of a writer who worked there and at the Airdrie Public Library. The selection committee includes her two daughters and the magazine's publisher, which tells you the application is read by people looking for a voice rather than a transcript. The magazine does not publish an amount or a fixed closing date, so watch its site in the spring.

About this scholarship

An annual award from airdrielife magazine for an Alberta high school student or graduate who is serious about the written word, going to one applicant a year on academic record, community involvement and leadership. It was created in 2017 in memory of Anne Beaty, who wrote for the magazine from 2010 to 2016.
