Worth knowing

One application, posted on the Grad Google Classroom in February, puts you forward for the committee's awards; in 2026 it was due April 1. The 2027 date here is rolled forward and not confirmed. The Mike Bigland scholarship is applied for through Cochrane Minor Hockey, not the school.

About this scholarship

Bow Valley High School's scholarship committee picks or nominates Grade 12 students for local awards, including Bobcat Brilliance ($500, for responsibility, respect and resilience rather than marks), Bow Valley Class Act ($500, for a well-rounded ambassador), the Lindsay Leigh Kimmett Valedictorian Award ($1,000), the Canadian Association of Principals Student Leadership Award ($250) and nominations to the Kirpal Kaur Dhindsa Memorial Scholarship ($1,000, need due to financial, emotional, physical or educational hardship). The directory also lists the Mike Bigland Memorial Scholarship ($2,500) for Cochrane Minor Hockey players and officials.
