Who can apply
Worth knowing
Two awards, with one going to a woman and one to a man, so you are competing inside your own half of a small field. Varsity is the hard requirement: a club or intramural team does not qualify. One application covers every Calgary Black Chambers award, so there is nothing to gain from choosing between them. The Calgary Foundation had not posted dates for the new cycle when this was checked on 2026-09-08; its page still shows the 2026 round, so the date here is last cycle's rolled forward. Confirm before you plan around it.
About this scholarship
Two awards of $5,000, paid straight to tuition, for Black Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are active student athletes on a varsity women's or men's team at a Calgary post-secondary institution.
