Who can apply

A Foothills Composite graduate weighed on marks, citizenship and sportsmanship

Worth knowing

Very few awards publish their weighting, and this one does, so you can work out where you actually stand. The money is normally used immediately after graduation, though the committee can grant an extension of up to two years.

About this scholarship

A $500 award paid annually until the fund is depleted, scored half on scholastic merit, a quarter on citizenship and a quarter on good sportsmanship. The academic half uses the highest average from the student's last two semesters.

How to apply

1 Ask your guidance counsellor how your school handles this award.
2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.
