Who can apply

Grade 12 students at Queen Elizabeth High School

Worth knowing

Administered by EducationMatters through one application for all CBE and Calgary Catholic awards. Applications open March 1. Confirm the date on the award page before you rely on it. EducationMatters lists the value of this award as variable, so no fixed figure exists to quote. Three rules apply to every EducationMatters award and are easy to miss: you must be 20 or younger as of September 1, you must not already be attending a post-secondary institution, and you must apply in your Grade 12 year. Once you leave high school you can no longer apply, so a gap year is fine only if you applied before you graduated.

About this scholarship

Open to students registered in grade 12 with strong academic merit and a commitment to lifelong learning. To be considered for this award, applicants must: Have hearing loss and have been a student in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program at Queen Elizabeth High School.

How to apply

1 Ask your guidance counsellor how your school handles this award.
2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.
