A Foothills Composite science student heading for a professional science career

Worth knowing

Alongside the marks the criteria ask for contribution to the welfare of others, a healthy lifestyle shown through sport or leadership, and a record of positive relationships with peers and adults, so a reference from a teacher carries real weight here.

About this scholarship

Funded by the Sheep River Health Trust, this $500 bursary needs an average of 85 per cent or better in two of Biology 30, Chemistry 30 and Physics 30, enrolment in a post-secondary science programme, and a plan to enter a professional science career.

How to apply

1 Ask your guidance counsellor how your school handles this award.
2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.
