Worth knowing

About 40 of these are given out a year against roughly 64 eligible applications, so the odds here are far better than most awards this size. You can win it twice, but no more. International students are not eligible. Africa Centre, which runs this award with the foundation, gives the cycle as March 1 to June 1; the dates here are that cycle rolled forward.

About this scholarship

Run by Africa Centre with Edmonton Community Foundation and National Bank, for students from communities where a significant number of members face barriers to education and employment. You must live in the greater Edmonton area and be heading to a program leading to a degree, diploma or certificate at a school in the region.
