ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP
The Fraser Institute Student Essay Contest invites Canadian high school students to engage with ideas from the Fraser Institute's Essential Scholars series. Contestants write a 1,000–1,500 word essay exploring what one of those thinkers would say about Canadian economic prosperity today. Up to 15 awards of $1,500 are available across high school, undergraduate, and graduate categories. High school submissions must include the school name and grade. Strong essays demonstrate economic reasoning and cite academic references.
Heads up: the Fraser Institute had not posted the next cycle date when this was checked in August 2026, so this is last year's date rolled forward. Confirm on their site before you plan around it.
