Who can apply
Worth knowing
One award a year, so the field is the whole public board rather than your school. John Laurie taught at Calgary's Crescent Heights and spent much of his life working alongside Treaty 7 leaders, which is why his name sits on the union's Indigenous award. The amount is only published in the portal during the application window. Local 38 runs its awards through a members-only portal, so the opening date is not published anywhere public; all four of its awards share the end-of-May closing date and one application site.
About this scholarship
The Calgary Public Teachers award for an Indigenous student of outstanding merit in the Calgary Board of Education, funded by the union rather than by the district.
