Worth knowing

Eligibility follows the rural internet provider's coverage map rather than any municipal boundary, so check the service area before assuming Cold Lake addresses qualify. Up to four awards go to graduating Grade 12 students going into computer science or another STEM field; marks count for 60% and community involvement for 40%. Send a transcript, a principal or counsellor reference, your acceptance letter and an 800 to 1,000-word essay to marketing@mcsnet.ca between April 1 and August 31.

About this scholarship

Four awards of $1,000 from MCSNet, the rural Alberta internet provider, for graduating students in its service area who are pursuing computer science or STEM-related studies. An August 31 close makes it one of the last deadlines of the year, which suits a student who decided on a STEM program late.
