Worth knowing

Verified on 2026-09-09 against the P.E.O. Alberta-Saskatchewan page, which is the fund's real home; this listing previously pointed at peointernational.org, where the fund is named nowhere. The award was $1,000 from 1997 and rose to $2,000 in 2025. Entering first year counts, so a Grade 12 graduate can apply, but the real gate is sponsorship: a local P.E.O. chapter must submit a recommendation by August 15, and the foundation says to start one or two months earlier because the chapter has to complete its own paperwork. You also need two years of Alberta or Saskatchewan residency, a letter of reference and an official transcript. The foundation is a separate entity from P.E.O. despite the name. Contact the nearest chapter through peoab-sk.ca well before the August cutoff.
