Worth knowing

You do not compete for this one, you qualify by being the top scoring secondary student on Team Alberta at the Skills Canada National Competition, but you do have to claim it. Alberta Student Aid needs an application form and your letter of endorsement from Skills Canada Alberta, and the first payment has to be claimed within two years of that letter. After that you can renew for up to four scholarships in total, as long as each is applied for within ten years of the endorsement. Separate from the WorldSkills Provincial Champion Scholarship, which is the provincial-level award.

About this scholarship

Awarded automatically to the top-scoring secondary student on Team Alberta at the Skills Canada National Competition: $5,000 a year toward post-secondary in their trade, for up to four years. There is no application.
