Worth knowing

The City runs this as a civic grant with an intake rather than a fixed graduation deadline, and it will not cover post-secondary tuition, equipment purchases, rental fees or studio time. Recipients also have to file a financial and narrative report within 60 days, and cannot apply again the following year.

About this scholarship

A City of St. Albert grant of up to $500 for an individual or $1,000 for a youth group, open to St. Albert residents aged 13 to 21 who are pursuing a career in the arts. It funds short-term training, professional development, and travel to showcase events or conferences, across visual arts, theatre, music, musical theatre, literary, film, new media and multimedia. The age range starting at 13 makes this one of the earliest pieces of arts money in the province, and the application is reviewed by a committee of the City's Arts Development Advisory Committee.

How to apply

1 Ask your guidance counsellor how your school handles this award.
2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.
