Who can apply

Grade 11 students at Western Canada High School

Worth knowing

Administered by EducationMatters through one application for all CBE and Calgary Catholic awards. Applications open March 1. Confirm the date on the award page before you rely on it. Three rules apply to every EducationMatters award and are easy to miss: you must be 20 or younger as of September 1, you must not already be attending a post-secondary institution, and you must apply in your Grade 12 year. Once you leave high school you can no longer apply, so a gap year is fine only if you applied before you graduated.

About this scholarship

Open to students completing grade 11 at Western Canada High School. The prize is awarded to the student who: is the most promising prospect for the public performance of vocal classical music; exhibits growing vocal superiority; or demonstrates personal qualities of desire and commitment to exemplary vocal performance.

How to apply

1 Ask your guidance counsellor how your school handles this award.
2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.
