Worth knowing

Verified against the Calgary Black Chambers scholarship page on 2026-09-08. The catchment is wider than the name suggests and is worth reading before you rule yourself out: Airdrie, Diamond Valley, Calgary, Chestermere, Cochrane, High River, Okotoks, Springbank or Strathmore. You must be entering FIRST year, which makes this one of only two Calgary Black Chambers awards a Grade 12 student can apply for; the Business, Legacy, TransAlta STEM and Cavalry FC awards all require second year or beyond. Community involvement is required, with a stated preference for environmental sustainability, and one reference letter. Applications go through the Calgary Foundation's grant interface and close at midnight. The Chambers had not posted dates for the new cycle when this was checked, so the year here is last cycle's carried forward; confirm before you plan around it.
