Who can apply
Worth knowing
Verified 2026-09-09 against Football Alberta's own scholarships page, which corrected two facts this listing had wrong: there are FIVE awards a year totalling $10,000, not eight, and the deadline is June 15 at 4pm, not June 30. The five are split by region: Northern Alberta, Edmonton, Central Alberta, Calgary and Southern Alberta, one each. That regional split is the thing worth knowing, because a region needs a minimum of five applicants to award its scholarship at all; thin regions get pooled with the next smallest, and a vacant zone goes to the region with the most applicants. Your high school program must be a paid Football Alberta member in the year you apply, you must have played within School Sport Alberta, and the post-secondary program must run at least two years. Applications and reference letters go by email to Football Alberta. The 2026 cycle closed June 15; the date here carries that forward and was not published for the new cycle when checked.
