🎓 New Beginnings Bursary

A $5,000 bursary for students from low-income families who qualify for full-time Alberta Student Aid and enrol in an approved high-demand program. Alberta expanded it for 2026-27: 2,400 bursaries instead of 1,000, a $12 million budget, and more eligible programs in technology, health and energy. You do not apply separately, so get your student aid application in early.

There is no separate application. Recipients are picked from full-time Alberta Student Aid applications on a first come, first served basis, so apply for student aid as early as you can. Lifetime maximum of two bursaries.
