Memorial Composite student athletes with 80% in Math 30

Worth knowing

Memorial Composite marks this one as needing an application in the spring of Semester 2 and publishes no calendar date for it. Its own award list also says sponsorship and amounts are subject to change, so confirm both with the school before counting on the figure.

About this scholarship

Funded by Ed and Rhonda Tobin and Holton Roofing in memory of Parker Tobin, one of the players lost in the 2018 Humboldt Broncos bus crash. It goes to a student who excels at mathematics and has exemplary athletic ability, and the criteria are specific: enrolment in a minimum one-year program at an accredited institution, a grade over 80% in Math 30-1 or 30-2, outstanding overall academic achievement, being a positive role model and a good teammate, and outstanding leadership in sport. Requiring both a math mark and athletic skill narrows the field sharply.

How to apply

1 Ask your guidance counsellor how your school handles this award.
2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.
