Worth knowing

It pays for the things other awards will not touch: application fees, upgrading courses to qualify for a program, supplies, short training tickets such as security or food handling, and even work boots for a first job. Anyone already attending post-secondary is excluded, which is what makes it useful in the gap year. One exclusion the page states plainly and this listing was missing: applicants who have attended or are attending a post-secondary program are not eligible.

About this scholarship

A Burns Memorial Fund bursary for Calgary youth who do not meet the criteria of any other bursary, aimed at getting them into education, training or work.
